The LaGreca Family

Today was the day..Nicholas Charles LaGreca (better known on this blog as “the boy” or “NCL”) turned 1. We have had 365 days with him (maybe 366 days with leap year) and we can’t even imagine life without him. In just one year, NCL has stolen our hearts (actually, I am pretty sure it happened on day 1, within about 2 seconds of his arrival at 3:48pm).

As many of you know, we waited over 3 years for a child, and I think if you ask either of us, we would say with conviction that it was WORTH the WAIT!

We had NCL’s party this past weekend with a few friends and the family. What a great time! You know that Joe and I love any excuse to have a party, and how special that it was a party celebrating the boy’s first year. He went from the very small, skinny baby above to a walking ball of energy!

As promised, here are a few shots of Nicholas eating birthday cake (his first cake ever!). He did GREAT!

I learned a couple of things from a few recent “1st birthday parties” that we have been to. #1: Take off all clothes before giving the cake to the birthday child and #2: It’s best to bring the highchair outside (crumbs go in the grass AND you can just hose off the chair before bringing it back in).

Nicholas LOVES cake and he can’t get enough ice cream. If the eyes didn’t give it away….the love for ice cream seals the deal….Nicholas is definitely my son. Ha ha…however, there is NO doubt that his boy is just like his father. He has an appetite that would eat me under the table. (2 eggs for breakfast, plus fruit and milk…amazing!)

Happy 1st Birthday NCL!!! And thanks to EVERYONE that sent birthday wishes today and this past weekend. We LOVE that we get to share this little guy with such a great network of friends and family. (It’s also nice to always have something to write about on the blog….tired of “Nicholas Pictures” yet?)

Next up…..Halloween pictures….anyone want to guess what the little dude is going to be?
