The finishing touch to the (outside) of Fort:

Grandpa LaGreca – the artist I love the sign. Not only is it adorable, but it was made with loving Grandpa hands. Our boys really have NO idea how much went into this Fort. Joe and our 2 Dads put in SO much time and physical effort. Not to mention all the materials.

I still have a few things I want to do on the Fort. I need to find some indoor/outdoor carpet (or office carpet) to put up in the loft. (if you hear of any scraps, let me know please!) I want to get a couple of chairs for the inside of the fort and maybe a place to store a few toys, etc. And I would love to get a few chairs for the outside deck & and a little table, so they can have a snack/drink up there.

The next project has already started…fixing the fountain. Maybe someday (soon) we will actually finish the courtyard. Wouldn’t that be something….?

Until then, we will just have to keep having gatherings/parties– he he.

Today was a BIG day! All of the Fort Painting was completed….thanks to all our helpers!

Joe had it primed last night, so all the ‘colors’ could be painted today.

We had a GREAT team helping today. I still can’t believe the whole thing was done in ONE day!!

Nothing like a little “Mad Birds” (Angry Birds, but NCL has re-named the game) while on a break.

After all the tan and white was painted — it was finally time to paint the red/rust color (we were all excited about that!)

And then, it was time to finish the sandbox (under the Fort).

And last thing for today..the stairs and the slide:

Fort LaGreca is 99% done. The last 1% is the ‘Fort LaGreca’ sign the Joe’s Dad is working on. That will be a fabulous addition to the porch.

We are ready for the Grand Opening! Watch for info on an Open House to officially OPEN the Fort for play!!

This weekend MIGHT be the LAST “Fort Work Weekend”!!

All construction was finished last weekend. It was open for play at AJ’s party and it was a big hit.

Penny & Dad are back — and it’s time to PAINT!!

One of my all-time favorite things: boys in a hat.

The boys can’t wait for it to be done.

Work on the Fort started early Saturday morning and continued through the weekend until clean-up on Sunday evening.

The walls went up on Saturday.

After church on Sunday, the roof frame went up.

AJ climbed up the ladder all by himself (we all turned our heads for less than a minute!!) He wanted to check out the inside of the Fort.

And…here is where we left it on Sunday evening.
