Annual Camping Trips
November 7, 2012 11:13 pm Family, Friends, VacationWho knew…that 4 years ago…we would buy an RV? And become ‘a camping family’? And that we would talk my Dad into buying an RV? And that we would recruit many families to weekend-camp with us?
5 years ago, if you told be that all of the above was going to happen…I wouldn’t have believed it.
Now, here we are. We just got back from our 4th Annual Agua Caliente Weekend.
The final count for the weekend:
8 Sites,
6 RVs/2 tent trailers,
16 adults,
13 kids (5 yrs & younger),
2 dogs,
and a LOT of food!!!

(Above: the whole group minus 2)
Unlike last year, the weather this year was AMAZING!!! It was perfect the whole weekend. It reminds me of one of the reasons I fell in love with this desert trip the first time we went (and let’s not forget that I am NOT fond of the desert). Beginning Nov is (usually) a lovely time in the desert.
We had 2 “Rookie Families” with us and I am pretty sure we have them convinced that they should plan future weekend camping trips with our group
Highlights from the weekend:
Bacon Duty – Saturday AM
Girls out numbered the boys — that meant DOLLS!!
2 kid picnic tables – ALWAYS full at meal time.
Swimming!!!
Stomp Rocket
The trash truck — AJ was always with the trash truck. ALL. WEEKEND.
The Miller’s
Happy Hour(s)
Games
Pot luck/Family-Style Meal time — with a LOT of food!!
Campfire & S’mores
Family
We had a great time..and could have stayed for another night (most of us wanted to!) We really had a great group of people and ALL of our kids had a fabulous time. There was a friend for everyone — AND, plenty of toys!
Desert, I will see you next year…with all my friends
