Family, Nicholas, Vacation

That quote best describes Nicholas’ experience at Mono Lake today.

That black line that you see on the shore — ALL flies!! Very strange!
I guess a lady today Nicholas that the flies don’t bother people — and he HAD to tell me at least 5 times on our way back down to the Lake, after lunch. Too funny.

Family, Friends, Vacation

Somehow, we seem to get do lucky on our trips — we always get to meet friends along the way — vacation timing works out in our favor!
We headed over to Convict Lake yesterday afternoon – knowing that our friends, Matt & Amy, would be there in a cabin.
We drove through the RV campground and it wasn’t looking promising (we didn’t have a reservation, first come/first served). As we were just about to drive away to find another campground — we found the LAST spot!!
It was great. The boys were both asleep when we pulled up.

When they woke up, we all went ‘fishing’.

Nicholas learned how to cast a fishing pole — and he was pretty good! It will be fun to see him actually catch a fish (he spent the afternoon saying, “Daddy, I think I have a bite!!” I didn’t see a single fish the whole time we were out there…he he)
Dinner Friday night was at the cabin with friends. It was so nice of them to invite us….crazy, energetic boys and all. We enjoyed BBQ’d fish for dinner (caught by Matt). It was delicious. And right before dinner, we had to put the boys in the shower. I have NEVER seen NCL so dirty.

A good, fresh dinner with friends — awesome!!

Amy with her fish bones! Yum!!

Thanks Matt, Amy, Dana & Caleb! We had a great time (and sorry about our loud, dirty boys. I know they made things a little stressful!!)
