The Blink of an Eye
May 21, 2012 9:26 pm Family, FriendsI feel like I haven’t blogged in a long time. I looked at my last post date and it was a week ago, so it hasn’t been too long. BUT – I really haven’t blogged with ‘words’ in a REALLY long time.
We got some incredible news today — dear friends of ours just got engaged this past weekend. It’s so fun to hear about couples in love, engagements, new rings, etc. It never gets old. And I especially love it when it’s two people we know and really like. A wedding to attend in our future – I can’t wait!
I don’t think I have shared this on the blog yet, but Joe and I are adding a new title to our names at the begging of October. Meg and Steve (Joe’s sister/bro-in-law) are going to have thier first baby. I am excited for them and excited that the boys will had a cousin close by! (The sex is going to be a surprise).
Sarah (friend, co-worker) and I have been pretty good about our Tues/Thurs morning runs. It is SO nice to have someone to meet me at the office in the AM. I don’t think I could do it alone — I need the motivation. On Tuesday, we treat ourselves to an extra special coffee from ‘Joe’s on the Nose’ coffee truck. (They pull up RIGHT in front of our building now — love it!!)
I feel like the last 5 months have whizzed by — it’s MAY! Which means its nearly summer (where was Spring?) Sometimes, I feel like I blink and a whole month goes by.
I am starting to realize that we aren’t the only CRAZY busy family of 4. I know quite a few families that have insanely busy weekly schedules…busier than US!! I always wonder how they do it? I wonder how the Moms always seem to hold it all together and they are always so ‘put together’. And they get all the laundry done. And their house is clean. I don’t really feel like I do a good job at any of that, (yes, I should be folding laundry RIGHT now, instead of blogging!)
Work has been….for a lack of a better way to say it…A LOT OF WORK!! I haven’t been this busy at work since before Nicholas was born. Today, I blinked…and 10 hours had gone by!! I didn’t stop the whole day. And right when I was going to walk out the door, I remembered I had one more thing to do…15 more minutes….(it’s always ‘just 15 more minutes’)
The Fort is done…and so is the Fort Grand Opening. We had an Open House yesterday so the boys could have friends over to play…kids and adults
I made little Jello cups and popcorn for snack. It was a nice day for a gathering. I also put together a movie called “The Making of Fort LaGreca” and showed it on the TV throughout the afternoon. There is a chance I might be able to post it on the blog — and if that doesn’t work, then I will add it to my fb page.

Joe/Nicholas cut the Red Ribbon for the slide and Grandpa LaGreca/Anthony cut the Ribbon for the stairs.
Anthony is talking up a storm these days. He will try ANY word I ask him to — it’s really amazing. I can’t believe how fast he has grown. He is a LITTLE BOY now! Again, I blinked and TWO years went by!
While I was making the Fort Movie, I happened across some old video clips when NCL was 2 1/2 years old. He was just a baby! I LOVE looking at old videos….makes me so glad that I hit that ‘record’ button SO often
We have a camping weekend coming up (in June). I am excited about it. I feel like the RV has been used a TON this year…but not by us! We have had LOTS of guests in 2012..which is great…but now it’s OUR turn. I am looking forward to a weekend with friends, family and food.
I nearly forgot…we finally made it to LegoLand this past weekend. It was SO awesome to have 4 free tickets (thanks to a friend at work).
Jen and Jacob joined us for the day — which was certainly a treat
We all went to dinner together in Carlsbad. I must say..we were super impressed with how GOOD the boys were the whole day AND at dinner — after a VERY long, tiring day. We all had a great time and we ALL couldn’t wait to jump into bed that night!
We ended the weekend with more ‘friend visits’ and dinner out – Casa De Pico (they wanted Mexican food) and we had 4 kids under 5, so we had to pick (the restaurant) appropriately.

And…we had to order (drinks) appropriately
It’s a 3-Day weekend coming up. You better believe I am working HARD now, so I can enjoy 3 straight days off..with my family. Oh, AND, icing on the cake…just booked our sitter for Friday night. It’s been a few months since we had a real (1 on 1) Date Night. I will be counting the hours until then
I will blink…and it will be Friday…
