NYE = 23
January 3, 2010 8:34 am Anthony, Elizabeth, FamilyThis year, we rung in the new year with everyone on the East Coast (only 5 hours from the Big Apple – where the ball drops). I can’t even imagine being in New York City at midnight on Dec. 31st. Not only is it REALLY cold back here (it’s below freezing nearly every night), but the fact that the bathroom situation in Time Square is less than desirable. (That doesn’t fair well with a pregnant lady that needs the bathroom every hour).
We were very happy to stay indoors to watch the ball drop. We got together with all the family – had lots of yummy snacks and played games.
And then…the masks came out….
The masks were super silly and fun. We all had a good laugh with them. They would be SO great for a Halloween party. I was thinking you could put together an outfit that went with the mask…and no one would even recognize you!
New Years Eve (NYE) marked Week 23 for me. Almost 6 months pregnant – Wow, that really went fast! I can’t believe it’s 2010 already. My goodness – where did the time go? I honestly feel like we JUST found out I was pregnant. Baby LG #2 is going to be here before we know it.
An update on the pregnancy: Acid reflux is officially back and Rolaids are now my traveling companion (in my purse, by my bedside…..everywhere I go). I have found that laying on my left side at night helps relieve the pain – if I roll over to my right side – I immediately feel the burn, ugh.
I am having a hard time staying on my side when sleeping. I really like to sleep on my back at night – and I have been waking up on my back throughout the night. I think it’s been especially tough while we have been in Buffalo because we are sleeping in a Queen-sized bed and I can’t line the bed (on both sides) with pillows, to keep me from rolling onto my back.
Speaking of sleeping..that is one thing that I am really missing at this point. I am having a really hard time staying asleep at night. I think the longest I can sleep is 2 hours. Once I wake up (around midnight/1am), I have a VERY hard time getting back to sleep and staying asleep for longer than 30 minutes. I guess this is early preparation for the sleepless nights that come with a newborn, right? (Although – I haven’t been able to sleep well for the entire pregnancy…and that is just NOT fair. I wouldn’t mind getting a few good night’s sleep each week – that would be nice).
I can tell the baby is getting bigger – the kicks are starting to get a LOT stronger. You can see the baby moving on the outside now. Such a strange feeling, but I love it so much. As soon as I lay down at night – the baby wakes up and starts his/her exercise routine.
