Hockey in Buffalo
December 28, 2009 9:04 pm FamilyThey say “When in Rome…do as the Romans do” — so, I guess it holds true for Buffalo. When in Buffalo….Go to a Sabres Hockey game!
Grant and Mary (the two on the right above) have season tickets to the Sabres — lucky us! The day after Christmas, we all went downtown to the HSBC Arena to cheer on the Sabres (and also lucky for us — Grant and Mary have a TON of Sabres geer that we were able to borrow, so we could look like REAL fans!)
The seats were GREAT! We were in row 5 — just to the left/behind the Sabres goalie! (See picture below for Sabres’ goalie, Ryan Miller #30 — he will be the US Olympic Hockey Goalie for the 2010 games in a few months).
It took a REALLY long time for the Sabres to score a goal….they didn’t look so hot in the first period, but stepped it up a bit in the second period. Here is the first goal (out of 2). The picture below is also for all my old co-workers. I finally got to see the inside of the HSBC Arena. It’s a nice place.
Unfortunately, the Sabres lost the game after a score-less OT (5 minutes) and a Shoot Out…BUMMER! But, Joe and I get to go to one more game before we leave. We are both so excited to see them play again!
