An Early Christmas Gift

I realize this post is going to make me sound like a complete GEEK — please remember, I am married to a computer geek, so it’s bound to happen.

As Joe would say – “I came up on LOOT today!” – and he is totally right. He got a deal on a new (well, 2 month old) Mac Book Pro laptop and a 24 inch Mac monitor.

Within hours, Joe had my laptop sold on Craigslist – he handed over his MacBook to me and he got the new MacBook Pro.  But – the sweetest part of the deal..I got the GIGANTIC monitor!

You probably can’t tell from the picture – but the screen is amazing. I honestly feel like I am sitting in a movie theater! You can see how big it is by looking at the laptop screen on the left.

My real iMovie-Making days are about to begin….

T-Day in T-town (Part 3)

Family, Nicholas 1 Comment

Part 3 of this series actually takes place in a small town, in the foothills, call Sonora.  My sister, Dani, lives & works in Sonora (her boyfriend’s hometown). We drove up in the morning and as soon as we arrived – we headed out to Cover’s Apple Ranch for lunch and an afternoon filled with FUN!

What better place to bring NCL — they had a mini-steam engine train! As soon as NCL saw it – he went nuts! “Gee Gee!!!”

Nicholas got to ride the train 4 times! It was awesome!

After the first two laps, we took a break from the train and headed over to the playground and mini-petting zoo. I am telling ya, this place was so AWESOME for a 2 yr old.  He had a ball!

(Pregnant Mom and NCL on the swing – he would NOT get off the swing. And he was too big for it – his feet hit the ground everytime he went by it).

***The Petting Zoo***

It was so much fun to see NCL run around the little petting zoo. He fell in love with the baby cow.  (Just like he fell in love with the deer at the WAP).

Nicholas absolutely loved feeding corn seed to the cow.  He wasn’t even afraid of the teeth/tongue.  It was very cute to watch.

He would have laid on top of the cow if he could have climbed into the stall. Here – you get a glimpse of how much he loved the baby “bmoo”

I wish we could have a little farm — we need more land! It would be great to teach the kids to farm/take care of animals….but, it’s unlikely to happen in San Diego :(

The petting zoo also included 2 goats, a handfull of sheep and a bunch of chicken.

After washing our hands thoroughly – NCL and I road the train around the track 2 more times. We sat in the very back and had a blast together.

We finished up the afternoon with more play time on the playground. Check out these really cool “tree houses”!

Oh – I almost forgot – there was a Hay Maze! Joe and NCL went through it pretty quick because the ground was really wet inside.

Time to leave Cover’s Apple Ranch – we all had a great time! There is nothing more fun than showing your 2 yr old a new place – complete with train rides, playgrounds and animals.

To end our day-trip to Sonora – we headed back to Lane’s house for rest, play and dinner.

As soon as NCL saw Dani’s guitar – he HAD to play!

Lane’s Dad got out this really cool, old truck for NCL to play with. It was a hit, of course.

Dani, Lane and the Gonzales Family – THANK YOU so much for having us up to your home for the day! It’s obvious from the pictures that NCL had the time of his life (excluding the meltdown at dinner). We really appreciate everything!!
