The LaGreca Family

The following documentation might be helfpul to anyone that is trying to understand what NCL is trying to say.  Some of these are a mystery to us – he just made them up.  The first one, you all know well by now.

“Gee” = train

“bmoooo” = cow (the sound a cow makes). It’s not just “mooo” – for some reason, he adds a “b” to the beginning.

“baa” =  sheep (again, the sound)

“beep-beep” = This has 2 meanings:

(1) Fish (most fish are called “beep-beeps” – this also includes his goldfish snack.)

(2) the sound he makes when two cars are going to crash into each other (or he wants you to move out of the way so his cars can continue on the path).

“ee-ah” = horse (I believe this came from me – when he first started to ride his rocking horse, I would say “Yeh–Haw” – I think that has turned into a “ee-ah” for horse??)

“ah-ee” = shark (this one baffled me for a little while, but the only thing I could come up with for this is that he watched Nemo SO much – he had to come from the movie. When the fish in the tank are doing their “tribal chant” – he could have pulled out “ah-ee” from part of the chant and now that’s what he calls all sharks…I know, it’s strange – I don’t get it)

“Doc-Cow” = you all know this one, too. Roscoe.  This one is cute – but I don’t understand why he doesn’t say Rocco – instead. Because he can clearly said “Rock” (as in, rocks on the ground and he wants to be rocked in the chair)

“alldi” – two meanings: (1) alligator and (2) his friend at daycare’s name is Alex and he calls her “Alldi”

“wa-wa” = many meanings, but the top 3 are probably – (1) water (2) boat and (3) milk

“Donk Yu” = Thank you (but sometimes sounds a lot like Doc-Cow)

“pweee” = Please

“au revoir” = (actually, only the second half of this french word…sorry, I didn’t know how else to type it because when he says it, I always think he is saying “good-bye” in French).  But, his meaning of the word is = over (as in, the movie is “revoir” Mama)

“Nemo” – this is VERY clearly, Nemo. There is no mistaking it.

“burrr” – This is another hard one to type out because it’s not like ‘brrr – I am cold’ – it has a different accent to it.  And, we can NOT figure out what he is saying. We ask him to point to something, and it seems like he is always pointing at something different.  I wonder if he is trying to say “blue” (the color), but not everything he points to is blue.  We just don’t know what he is saying, and you can tell that he gets frustrated with us.
