The results are in….the boys did GREAT this year at the Homebrew Competition.  Joe and Dan got a 1st place for their pear-apple cyder & 2nd place for a Christmas spice beer.  Dan also won a 5th place ribbon for a wheat beer he brewed.  I am always impressed when the boys win ribbons – only because most of the brewing happens at our house.  And EVERY time they brew, I ask how things are going….and EVERY time, I get the same response.  “Uh….well, we have a problem….” or sometimes I hear “uh oh..what did you do?”   And when all is said and done after a long day of brewing – the boys say, “not sure how this one will turn out…we will see.”

Here are the winners with their ribbons.

NCL had “ants in his pants” at the beer competition (thankfully, he and I arrived at the VERY end, just in time to see the boys win).

It was so much fun to take him to the fair this year.  Since he knows all of the animals now – it was awesome to visit them in the livestock area.  As soon as he saw the cows, he was “mooooo-ing.”

And, you can’t visit the Fair w/o riding at least one ride, right?  We walked by the Pony Ride…..Joe and I both wanted him to ride a pony (and we were both really hoping he would like it).  He did. And it was awesome to watch.

It goes without saying that we just HAD to buy NCL a corn on the cob from the fair. He definitely enjoyed it.

Oh, and then….there was the Bubble Machine on one of the stages.  As SOON as NCL saw the bubbles, he started screaming (like a girl). He was so excited.  This kid really knows how to have a good time (and wear himself out!)

So, is this where it begins?  19 months?  Do I need to be worried?

Anyway, that was the Fair ’09. I have a feeling it was only our first trip and we will be back before July 5th.
