Finally!

7:10 pm Elizabeth

I am so proud of myself.  After 20+ months of having an empty frame hanging on our wall (in the master bedroom), I FINALLY filled it with 12 pictures today.

Some of you might be laughing because you know that I am known for hanging empty frames on the wall…in hopes that someday, the perfect picture will be taken, printed and inserted into the frame, (remember the giant livingroom frame? – that was only 8 months.)

I had high hopes for this frame of twelve 4×6’s.  I was going to put black and whites of Nicholas when he was a newborn.  I asked Joe to help me hang this frame in our room a couple months before NCL was born.  (Note: to the right of this frame, there are 2 8×10 frames that remain, to this day, empty…..actually, that isn’t entirely true.  Those frames still have the picture that came with the frame.  A little girl and her dog…in BOTH frames. Double-wammy! We are definitely getting a little tired of seeing that picture…twice.)

Most of you will probably recognize a few of these since I just uploaded them to Facebook (The bottom row in the frame was not posted to FB, on purpose.  After NCL “lost” his blue outfit, and then “lost” his diaper….there was still more strinkler fun to be had that day).  And actually, if you follow this blog regularly, you have also seen a few before – in one of my Idaho posts.  The photographer was my father-in-law, and the minute that I loaded these pictures onto my laptop – I just knew that I had waited until the PERFECT series of pictures had been taken.  I am glad I never followed through with my B/W newborn pictures (yes, I realize we could have enjoyed those pictures for over a year and a half….too late to look  back now).

I feel like these pictures are located perfectly, in our house.  If Joe and I are lying in bed, we face the wall that holds this frame.  Not only is Nicholas the love of our life, but these pictures represent Nicholas’ love for life.  It’s a reminder for us (every single night), that we should try to enjoy life as demonstrated in these pictures.  Nicholas knows how to have a good time, and just like his parents – he thoroughly enjoys vacation.
